Functional Capacity Evaluations

A Functional Capacity Evaluation is a 2-3 hour in duration test used to determine an injured person's basic level of function, whether or not he/she is able to return to work, and to help identify the appropriate course of action/plan.

 *Your physician must provide a referral in order to undergo a Functional Capacity Evaluation

What is tests:

  • Movement
  • Strength
  • Ambulation
  • Lifting
  • Carrying
  • Bending
  • Kneeling
  • Squatting
  • Pushing/Pulling
  • Stair Climbing
  • Other Job Related Tasks

 

 

 

 

How to Prepare for the Test: 
  • Eat a snack/light meal
  • Drink fluids for optimal performance
  • Wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes (please refrain from wearing toning sneakers such as Sketchers Shape-Ups, etc.)
  • Bring reading glasses (if necessary) to complete medical form
